Our Mission

Kingwood Park High School Choir is dedicated to fostering a love for music and developing exceptional vocal abilities in young performers.

Mission Statement:

To provide instruction in vocal technique in order to develop young voices appropriately, to teach fundamental musical skills, and to encourage students to follow their passions by setting high goals and using discipline to achieve excellence.  By exposing singers to repertoire from various genres, time periods, and world cultures, CHOIR will help to cultivate a lifelong love and appreciation for music!

Our ultimate goal is to offer the opportunity to collaborate with other student musicians to make high quality music performances and enjoy a positive and successful experience with choir team members while learning new and improving upon previous musical skills. Through these experiences, students will create memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Our Director

Christine Donley, “CDon,” holds both Bachelors and Master of Music degrees in the area of vocal performance and TEA Certification in Music K-12 and Theatre Arts K-12. She comes with over 18 years of teaching experience from around Texas, Florida and ITALY! She is currently teaching all levels of choir at K-Park. Her students are offered the opportunity to prepare and perform for audiences of peers, family, friends, etc. as a catalyst for critical thinking and an outlet for self-expression and creativity. By performing regularly, students can gain more confidence and self-absurdness which will benefit their whole educational experience.

In addition to teaching performing arts, Christine is passionate about being on stage and has performed not only in a variety of different concerts, operas, musicals but also acted in plays throughout the Southeast region and overseas in Italy, France, and Austria. While living abroad, she has formally studied French, Italian and German.

She is a classically trained soprano, having sung semi-professionally in Italy in such operatic roles as “Cio Cio San” in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, “La Contessa” in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO” and “Anina” in LA TRAVIATA. Stateside, she has performed in various operettas and musicals such as Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved PIRATES of PENZANCE, THE MUSIC MAN with TexArts in Austin, and SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS with Zilker Hillside Theatre.
